十二经脉并不完全遵循阳经行于人体阳面、阴经行于人体阴面的规律,其外 行线走向符合“阴升阳降”的规律,内行线不受此拘制。经脉有内外行、主脉支脉、有 穴无穴之分,经穴应分布在外行线上,但足三阴在胸腹部的循行无内外行之分,对此当从 “立体”角度理解。体表行走的有穴通路并非全部为主脉,个别经脉在体表无主脉行走 。

Twelve regular channels does not follow the law completely that yang meridians goes along the front of the body and yin meridians goes along the back of the body. Meridian's run which goes along the surface of the body accord with the law that yin meridians goes up and yang meridians goes down, and the run which goes in the body does not accord with the law completely. The meridians points should be distributed on the meridians which goes along the surface of the body. But the foot three yin meridian going in the chest and abdomen has not any difference that goes in the body or on the surface of the body. It should be understood from the point of view of the three-dimensions. Some meridians with points are branching meridians. Individual meridians hasn't any main meridians which goes on the surface of the body.
